And We Said Goodbye

Just a random picture to document that we actually did drive on the right side of the car and on the left side of the road.  It's not as hard as you might think.
This was the last night we spent with our host family, the Msomi's.  We had a great time with them and will miss them all!

The South Coast

Our last weekend in South Africa we headed south of Durban to a town called Margate.  It is one of the many beach towns that make up the "South Coast".  We stayed in a 4 star B&B just a short walk from the beach.  The B&B was very nice and my favorite part was that the room had a huge sliding glass door that opened to our private deck.  We kept this door open every night so we could breathe in the fresh air and sleep to the lulling rush of the ocean's waves.  It was absolutely perfect.  Not to mention the spectacular view!
We spent most of this weekend in relaxation in preparation for our return to normal life in the states.  This mainly consisted of going to a street market, laying on the beaches, eating great food and watching movies on our deck.  There were several somewhat secluded beaches amongst the rocks and we spend our entire Sunday laying out at one of these beaches with no one else around.  It was fantastic.  This location also allowed us to explore amongst the rocks that jutted out into the ocean and it was here that we found tons of crabs roaming around.  They are pretty funny little creatures and definitely camera shy.

I don't know how they do it!

The crabs were hiding in the rock crevices as we patiently waited for them to make an appearance so we could snap some photos.

View from our room.

View of a breath-taking sunrise from our hotel room.

This is the secluded beach that we spent most of the day Sunday.

We watched the South Africa "Sharks" rugby team beat Australia.  This game was played in Durban and as we sat at a nearly empty bar watching the game we were a little mad at ourselves for not attending the actual match.
Our first time eating snails!
